ForrestRiver - Riverstone RV

Choosing Tiny Living

We lived in our 1st RV for 7 yrs & we realized that it was perfect for us.  I liked the smaller footprint, no wasted space & mobility.  But I wanted a home on wheels.

So started looking for RVs that were rated for full-time living and Tiny Houses, just like sticks & brick houses, but on wheels.  I fell in love with the Denali by Timbercraft Tiny Homes.  The ability to customize the living spaces & options was a selling point for me.

But PK had reservations on DOT width restrictions and wanted to stay with an RV.  So the hunt for a RV started & there are thousands of designs to choose from.  I wanted something that felt more tiny house on wheels with an open design. The RiverStone model has the perfect layout for us. It has good bones & easy to renovate/personalize to fit our quirkiness.

Our Requirements:

Full Time Living

Not all RVs are rated for full-time living. This RV uses residential kitchen appliances.

Insulation

This RV has 3 inch insulation on the walls, which will help keep the heating/cooling costs down.

Garage

Room for a small car or motorcycle to give us more options when we travel (Duel Trucks don't fit everywhere!)

Kitchen

Since I love to cook, we needed plenty of counter space. Energy-efficient appliances. Large fridge with ice maker, and a place for my Keurig Coffee Altar.

Living Room

PK loves the living room & I immediately started envisioning how our rg, GMa's antique chairs & my favorite fainting couch & computer desk with fit.

Bedroom

We had a Cal-King (72" W x 84" L) mattress in our 1st RV, so this needed to fit.Changing out the mattress is one if the first things RVers do. No one likes their feet to hang over the edge (monsters).

Bathroom

I wanted a very "geriatric" friendly bathroom. Being able to moving around and safely getting in & out of the shower is a "must-have" for both of us.

The RiverStone Layout

Our Kitchen has always been the heart of our home. Everyone is drawn there; from fixing meals, to just hanging out. So it’s important to us that we have plenty of room for everyone.

and then we made a few changes….

Garage for my Smart Car.

Unfun Fact: Wiki had the specs for my Smart Car & I was SURE that it would fit! …. & the side rails were ONE INCH to low to clear the side mirrors on the car. Oh well, PK was a motorcycle anyway.
